The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention on Monday announced 41 new cases of the Covid-19 coronavirus in the country. The total number of cases in the country now stands at 611.
Three more patients also recovered completely from the illness, the ministry added.
Unfortunately, two more patients succumbed to the illness, taking the total death toll in the country to five. One of the deceased was a 48-year-old Arab patient who was suffering from heart problems and diabetes, while another patient, a 42-year-old Asian woman, was suffering from heart disease.

The announcement comes a day after the UAE reported as many as 102 new Covid-19 cases, three recoveries and one death.

As of yesterday, the UAE had also carried out more than 220,000 laboratory tests across the country for the coronavirus -- a testing coverage at over 22,900 tests per million people, the second highest test density in the world.
In the same conference, it was also announced that distance learning in UAE schools will continue until the end of the current academic year.
