Coronavirus: Saudi Arabia tells travellers to follow Covid-19 precautionary measures

Dubai - GACA gives guidelines on travel a day after international flights resumed in the Kingdom.

People travelling to and from Saudi Arabia must adhere to Covid-19 precautionary measures at all times, the Kingdom's General Authority for Civil Aviation (GACA) said on Wednesday.
The GACA statement came a day after International flights resumed in the Kingdom following the decision to exempt certain categories of Saudis and expatriates from the temporary travel ban imposed since March.
Certain categories of citizens and residents were allowed to enter and exit the Kingdom starting from September 15. All other citizens and residents will be allowed to travel after January 1, 2021.
International flights to and from the Kingdom were suspended on March 15 as part of measures to contain the Covid-19 outbreak.
The GACA said on Wednesday that all airports around the country are ready to operate flights carrying passengers who fit the criteria for travel.
Each airline must clarify its rules for passengers ahead of their flights, the GACA said.
It is also the responsibility of the traveller to ensure that they follow all health procedures of their destination country, the authority added.
The GACA said all passengers returning to the Kingdom must remain in home quarantine for three days and should undergo another polymerase chain reaction (PCR test) 48 hours after entering the Kingdom to prove they are not infected with the coronavirus. The authority said that it would update the guidelines for passengers in line with the approved health protocols.
