“We need to give advantage to the people who have been vaccinated. Once more countries and people are vaccinated in the country here, I am sure there will be different protocols being applied for those who have taken the vaccination,” said Adel Ahmad Al Redha, Chief Operating Officer, Emirates Airline.

“There will be easing of certain criteria for those people who are vaccinated. You’re most likely to see less requirements or obstacles for passengers who have taken vaccination than those who have not taken vaccination,” Al Redha told ARN Radio’s Dubai Eye.

The UAE has provided more than six million doses to date and vaccinated over 3.61 million.

As part of its measures to make passengers’ travel experience seamless, Emirates recently signed an agreement with Dubai Health Authority which aims to position Dubai as one of the first cities in the world to implement digital verification of traveller medical records related to Covid-19 testing and vaccination.

Under the agreement, the two entities will link the IT systems of DHA-approved laboratories with Emirates’ reservations and check-in systems, in order to enable the efficient sharing, storing and verification of passenger health information related to Covid-19 infection, testing and vaccination, all in a secure and legally compliant manner.

The project will benefit travellers in the coming months.
