The first flight to India carrying stranded Indian citizens will depart from Dubai International Airport at 2.10pm, UAE time, said Press Consul of the Consulate General of India Neeraj Aggarwal. The first flight will land in Kozhikode, Kerala, according to the Consulate official.

The maiden repatriation flight will carry at least 170 passengers and the missions are still in the process of finalising the list of Indian citizens who wish to return home amid the coronavirus crisis.

Passengers have been requested to arrive at the airport at least five hours before departure, said Aggarwal. "Since mandatory medical tests will be carried out ahead of departure, and maintaining social distance is also a necessity, we have requested passengers to come at least five hours ahead of time," explained Aggarwal.

Almost 200,000 Indian citizens in the UAE have registered on the Indian diplomatic missions' online platform, awaiting emergency repatriation back home.
