Residents across the UAE are calling on the beach-going community to act more responsibly.
As several beaches reopened after coronavirus measures eased in Dubai, some instances have shown that there are people who fail to comply with social distancing guidelines. Authorities have warned that those caught violating measures shall be penalised.
All residents should respect the rules because, if not, they will be risking the life and health of their families and others, said Egyptian expat Nora Hakim.
Syrian expat Majd Al Khatib feels that enjoying the beach can still wait. "Safety measures are necessary in the fight against Covid-19. Flouting rules at this stage would be a waste of all efforts made for over three months," she said.
American expat Shukri Deria said this is not the time to give up. "People have been indoors for too long and are getting tired of it but this is not the time to give up. The virus is still around and we must do our part to eliminate Covid-19."
"Families with small kids must take extra precaution on the beaches. Authorities must also take steps to monitor people to ensure distancing," said Malaysian expat Adeelatul.
And with people wearing masks and gloves, Pakistani expat Zeba Malik said everyone should remember to bin their trash. "They should ensure that they respect the environment by not disposing of their masks and gloves in beach areas."
