Philippine Airlines (PAL) will start flying to Dubai twice a week starting August 4, according to its latest travel advisory.
The Philippines' national carrier will be operating its Manila-Dubai-Manila flights every Tuesday and Thursday, starting next week. It also reminded passengers that those travelling to the emirate must have valid Covid-19 negative test certificates issued by a UAE-approved lab.
According to the airlines' website, flights can be cancelled, added or adjusted, based on international and provincial entry restrictions as well as Covid testing/quarantine limitations at specific airports.
PAL also announced the resumption of its flights to several other international destinations starting August 1. These included Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Honolulu, Toronto, Vancouver, Guam, London, Sydney, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Tokyo, Fukuoka, Osaka, Nagoya, Hong Kong, Dammam, Riyadh, Doha, Port Moresby, Ho Chi Minh City.
However, certain flights may be re-routed to land in Cebu or in Clark instead of Manila, due to limited coronavirus testing slots in Manila. In case flights are rerouted, passengers will have to undergo testing and be quarantined in designated hotel/hotels at their gateway point in Cebu or Clark. Those who test negative will be transferred to Manila usually within 24 to 48 hours of testing.
The airlines added that domestic flights will begin operation from July 26 but can be cancelled or there may be a change in planned schedules, based on evolving entry restrictions and requirements set by local government units.
While implementing safe travel in compliance with international health and safety protocols, PAL specified that passengers are required to bring their own face masks or facial coverings and wear them at all times at the airport and throughout flights.
