All employees of Ras Al Khaimah government departments must undergo a PCR test for Covid-19 every seven days at their own expense.
Earlier, the requirement was announced in federal, Ajman and Umm Al Quwain government departments

According to the RAK Human Resources Department, the new requirement comes into effect from February 7.
Employees who have received both doses of their Covid vaccines are exempted from the requirement, the authority added.
Employees who are unable to take the Covid-19 vaccine because of medical conditions need to undergo a PCR test every seven days, but the cost will be footed by their employer.
Outsourced and contracted public services companies must conduct a PCR test every three days for their representatives who have not received both doses of the vaccine before reporting to any Ras Al Khaimah government premises.
Government employers shall, for a maximum of one month, bear the costs of testing conducted at medical centres affiliated to the Ministry of Health and Prevention for the employees who have not yet been vaccinated due to the priority order set by the National Vaccination Programme.
The development goes in line with the UAE government's efforts to curb the virus, mitigate its fallout and ensure public health and safety.
