'UAE plays an active role in global Covid vaccine drive'

“Global health security is dependent on the well-being of all communities,” said Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, during his opening address at the two-day World Immunisation and Logistics Summit.

“After more than one year of the pandemic, it is evident for the international community that the prosperity of the countries can only happen through collective efforts. (This will happen) through cooperation with other countries as our worlds are interconnected and futures interdependent,” he said.

Speaking on the topic ‘A new paradigm in human collaboration’, Sheikh Abdullah noted that the UAE provided 1,760 tonnes of aid to 129 countries.

The two-day summit, hosted by the Hope Consortium, is bringing together world leaders and decision-makers leading the charge in the collective human effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The dialogue and conversations will reinforce the efforts to put solutions to the issues we face together,” he added.
