In a bid to limit the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19), Dubai Municipality has intensely boosted cleaning and disinfection process in various locations across the Emirate.
For those worried if public spaces are safe, DM has also closed its leisure destinations and public parks to launch an intensive periodic sterilization drive to protect public health and safety. Facilities that are undergoing cleaning include - salons, labour accommodations, educational institutions, hotels and hotel apartments, food establishments, cinemas, shopping malls, fitness centres, events/play areas, veterinary clinics, animal production establishments, animal and veterinary supplies establishments, laundries, consumer trading establishments, gens and ladies salons, and construction contracting companies among others.
Furthermore, DM has also implemented a remote working system through its smart services and website. It carries out regular inspection campaigns to ensure compliance with cleaning and disinfecting processes in all public spaces across Dubai.
Here are ways DM is keeping the city clean:
Roads and streets
Dubai plans on running a campaign to sterilize all streets across Dubai, which will start from March 20 and will continue until March 30. Thorough cleaning will be conducted in a phase by phase manner starting with Dubai's Deira neighbourhood which includes Naif, Al Rigga, Muraqqabat, Baniyas, Abu Hail, Al Nahda, and all nearby localities.
On March 21, areas including Hor Al Anz, Abu Baqer Al Siddiqui street, and Beirut street to name a few. On March 23, DM will launch cleaning in Al Seef Street, Jumeirah, Al Manara, Al Wasl, and Financial Centre Street and neighbouring areas.
