As part of its efforts to provide community facilities and construct 20 mosques across Abu Dhabi this year, the Department of Municipalities and Transport announced that it has delivered the first five mosques in Abu Dhabi City, in cooperation with MODON, to the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments, coinciding with the arrival of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
A plan has been approved to build 20 mosques across Abu Dhabi, with 10 in Abu Dhabi City, five in Al Ain City, and five in the Al Dhafra Region, to be delivered before the end of 2020.
The Department said the plan is to hand over all the mosques before the end of 2020.
Hamad Al-Mutawa, Executive Director of Operations Affairs Sector in the Department of Municipalities and Transport said: "We are keen to implement the vision of our wise leadership in developing a complete sustainability community that reflect our values and culture, and contribute to provide all the needs of society, in line with our strategic priorities aimed at building integrated urban complexes in which all are available.
