33 sides eye Danube title

DUBAI — Thirty three teams will vie for this year’s chapter of the Danube indoor cricket championships at the InSportz facility in Al Quoz, Dubai, it was announced at a Press conference.

The championships begins on Friday.

Teams representing the media partners, suppliers and business associates of Danube will be taking part.

The event preview adds: The participating teams will be competing for attractive prizes, trophies, medals and other incentives offered by Danube to the leagues main event winner, main event runner-up, plate event winner and the plate event runner-up.

Each side will compose of 10 members consisting of eight playing members and two alternates.

The league has also required each competing team to include two female players on their roster. Danube will provide the teams with essential cricket kits and T-shirts for the games.

“Since cricket is in the air, Danube Cricket League 2011 is also prepared to see 33 teams to go into action and show off their cricket expertise and skills,” said Anis Sajan, Managing Director, Danube Building Materials.

“This league allows us to spend a fun filled day of camaraderie, good sports and good company with our associates. We look forward to seeing adrenaline filled games and find out who will walk away as this year’s Danube Cricket league champions.”

Besides indoor cricket action, the event promises a fun filled day of family entertainment and activities with face painting sessions, clowns and cartoon character shows, cheer leaders, quizzes, games, DJs and music and a mini-concert.
