Active IT get the better of Yogi Group

DUBAI - Active IT overcame defending champions Yogi Group by two wickets in the G Force Premier League, held under the auspices of Dubai Cricket Council, at Zabeel Park, according to a press release.

The second successive victory helped Active to almost book their place in the knock-out stage while Yogi will have to win their last league match against Interface Transworld to qualify.

Batting first, Yogi batsmen found the going tough against some inspired bowling from Adnan and Shahzhad. Yogi’s consistent batters Swapnil Patil, Prabodhan Kanse and Saimam Butt also failed to click as the team was bowled out for 102 in 20 overs. Only Mohammad Ajmal (29) and Salman Faris (16) could get into double figures. Shahzhad was the wrecker-in-chief with figures of 3-9 in 3.2 overs. He was removed after bowling couple of dangerous deliveries.

In reply, Active IT batsmen also struggled against the Yogi attack. Kamran (3 for 24), Ajmal (1) and Nasir (2 for 13) tried their best to check the rival’s batting line-up, where only Ashraf (34 runs, 12b, 6x4, 4x1) was able to score freely.
