Ahmed’s ton sinks Maxtalent
SHARJAH - Umar Ahmed slammed a blistering century to power Young Talents to a convincing 88-run victory over Maxtalent in a under-16 match of the Sharjah Inter-Academy Tournament, organised by the Sharjah Cricket Council, at Al Dhaid Cricket Village and Sharjah stadium.
Ahmed scored 105 off just 53 balls with 13 fours and five sixes as Young Talents, batting first, piled up a huge 221 for three in the allotted 20 overs. He was well supported by Chirac Suri who chipped in with an unbeaten 53. Maxtalent, in reply, made 133 for nine with Sidharth Shekar (33) and Marlon D’Souza (29) being the main scorers.
In another match, Nadeem returned with a rich five-wicket haul for just 12 runs while Omar Mohammed smashed a brilliant 56 not out to guide Zayed Academy to a facile nine-wicket win over Desert Cubs.
G Force, aided by a fine knock of 54 by Zamin Jaleel, also recorded a comfortable nine-wicket victory over ECT Sharjah while ECT Dubai beat Sharjah CA by 12 runs, thanks to a four-wicket spell by Mukeet Butt.
