Al Mawasim and Eleven CC Prevail in Marine Cup

DUBAI - Al Mawasim CC and Eleven CC won their respective matches in Anchor Marine T20 Cricket Cup, a press release said.

The tournament is being held at the Seven Seas Ground, under the auspices of the Dubai Cricket Council.

All prizes are donated by Shahvir Sidhwa of Seven Seas Group.

In the first match, Al Mawasim beat Habib Bank by a huge margin of 144 runs. Batting first, Al Mawasim posted a commendable total of 262 for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Sajjad scored a brilliant 102, with healthy support from Ibrahim (81).

Nabeel and Yousef took two wickets each. Chasing, Habib Bank AG Zurich collapsed at 118 runs in their 20 overs. None of the players were impressive with Nasir being the top scorer (32). Amjad and Ashraf attained 2 and 1 wickets respectively. In the 2^nd match, Eleven C.C. beat Al Mawasim by 31 runs. Eleven C.C. batted first, and scored 192 runs in their allotted 20 overs. Rohit and Majid both scored a respectable 68. Gaffor remained the highest wicket taker with three wickets for 32 runs. Chasing, Al Mawasim were unable to attain the target and were all out for 161 runs. Zohaib was the top scorer with 28 runs; whilst Asanka took three wickets for 37 runs.

Eleven C.C. defeated Al Mawasim by 31 runs. Batting first, Eleven C.C. scored 192/8 in 20 overs. (Rohit 68, Majid 68; Gaffor 3/32, Zohaib 2/10, Sajjad 2/34) Chasing, Al Mawasim scored 161 all out in 18 overs. (Zohaib 28, Shankar 27, Asgar 26; Asanka 3/37, Rohit 2/24, NaeemUllah 2/12)
