The talented all-rounder first smashed 48 off as many balls and then returned with a five-wicket haul for just 20 runs to help his side seal their second successive win over the visiting Zambian side.

ECB Development XI, batting first, scored 212 all out in 20 overs. Prabodhan Kanse (46 off 65 balls), Niresh Fernando (29 off 30 balls), Indika Sampath (26 off 19 balls) and Abdullah Azhar (24 off 28 balls) were the other major scorers.

Godfrey Kandela bowled well for the visiting side, taking five wickets for 27 runs while Shareef Abdul Rehman claimed two for 23 to help Zambia restrict the ECB team to a modest score. But premier Zambian batsmen failed to deliver as the team collapsed to 130 all out. Abid Abdullah (33 not out), Ashraf Lulat (21) and Imran Suleman (21) were among the runs, but the home side never felt threatened.

Coached by former South Africa international Peter Kirsten, the Zambian team is in the UAE to prepare for their campaign in the Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Division 8 to be held in Kuwait from November 6.
