Asad powers MashreqBank

SHARJAH - Mohammed Asad produced a brilliant all-round performance to guide MashreqBank to a comfortable seven-wicket victory over Sharjah Cricket Academy (SCA) in the Sharjah Summer Cup, organized by the Sharjah Cricket Council, at the Sharjah stadium on Wednesday night.

Asad first snared two wickets for just two runs and then slammed a brisk 64 off 33 balls with eight fours and three sixes to help his side seal the victory in just 12.2 overs.

Sharjah Cricket Academy, batting first, scored a modest 114 for six in the allotted 20 overs with Dhruva Praveen doing the bulk of the scoring. Dilhan Sharafuddin remained not out on 31.

Nabil Iqbal was the most successful MashreqBank bowler, taking three wickets for 19 runs. He followed his bowling exploits with a fine knock of 21 not out off 16 balls to provide the finishing touch to the MashreqBank victory along with Asad.
