Ayub Leads Ibsons to Bukhatir League Semis

SHARJAH - Ayub Inayat and Sami scored scintillating half-centuries as Ibsons CC defeated Rufi Real Estate by 57 runs to move into the semifinals of the 19th Bukhatir League tournament, organised by the Sharjah Cricket Council.

In another match, Sun Oasis eclipsed Dubai Warriors, winning their match by five wickets. Ibsons were in complete control of the proceedings right from the word go. With Ayub (78) and Sami (67) making useful contributions to the total, Ibsons rattled up a massive 235 for four in the allotted 20 overs.

Rufi Real Estate, in reply, were shot out for 178 in the last over with Umar taking three wickets for 26 runs. Khurram and Umair, who shared four wickets, were the other successful bowlers. Khawar (66) and Jahangir (40) batted well for Rufi Real Estate. Sun Oasis owed their victory to Shah Hussain who produced a fine all-round performance against Dubai Warriors. The all-round first claimed three wickets for 18 runs and then chipped in with useful 27.

Sajid, who made 65, also made his presence felt as Sun Oasis overhauled Dubai Warriors’ score of 129 for seven.
