BITS-Pilani too good for American University

DUBAI — BITS-Pilani, Dubai, defeated the home team, American University of Sharjah, to grab the 2nd AUS T20 Cricket Tournament on Wednesday, a press release said.

Batting first AUS had a quick-fire start scoring over 100 in eight overs. But BITS- Pilani restricted them to 177 in allotted 20 overs.

Harish took a hat-trick while Azhar and Akshay picked up two wickets each. BITS started well and easily chased the target with Ishan (43) and Sidarth (47) being the top scorers.

Harish was given the man-of-the-match as well as the ‘bowler of the tournament’ award.

BITS played well throughout the tournament defeating some of the best college teams of UAE. They defeated University of Wollongong in Dubai in the knockout stage and Skyline University in the semifinals. Consistency was the key for BITS.
