Dhaniram’s Century Propels Canada

SHARJAH — Sunil Dhaniram smashed a century in the second day of Canada’s four-day ICC Intercontinental Cup match against Afghanistan at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

Dhaniram hit a polished 130, studded with 17 fours and one six as Canada posted a mammoth 566. Umar Bhatti made 31. Samiullah Shenwari was the most successful bowler for Afghanistan, taking four for 118, while Mirwais Ashraf bagged three.

Afghanistan reached 110 for three at stumps. Opener Shabir Noori remained not out on 46, while Mohammad Shahzad was not out on 17.
