Young Divyanda, who featured in both the SCA teams, was instrumental in leading the under-12 outfit to a narrow one-wicket victory over Esher CC in their last match, but he failed to prevent the under-14 team from crashing to one-wicket defeat against the same team.
Divyanda dominated the proceedings, picking up five wickets in each match. Playing with the SCA under-12 team, he turned in a super all-round performance to seal a tense win. First, he took five wickets for 15 runs and then slammed a fluent 35 as SCA team overhauled Esher CC’s 117 with one to spare. The SCA under-14 match against Esher also turned out to be a close affair. Batting first, the SCA team scored 99 for nine in the allotted 25 overs. Akshay Pancholi top-scored with 20.
Esher CC, in reply, raced to the modest victory target in 19.4 overs despite Divyanda returning with a five-wicket haul for 10 runs. Chiraq Thakur was the other successful bowler, taking three wickets for 12 runs.
