Organised under the aegis of the Sharjah Cricket Council, the final encounter will be played at the Max Way ground. The DPS Sharjah School beat The Dubai Scholars in a one-sided match, and The Indian High School Dubai was easily defeated by The Dubai Modern High School in another.
Captain Yash Shodan elected to bat first after winning the toss. Though all the DPS Sharjah batsmen, barring Yash, appeared in good nick, none of them could manage to build a solid partnership. Aniket (26), Furqan (19), Dhruva (18) and Devang (16) chipped in to reach 116 for the loss of 6 wickets.
This was DPS Sharjah’s lowest total so far in the tournament. The Dubai Scholars bowlers, commendably, bowled a tight line, with Shive Mehra (3-12) and Nikhil (2-16) doing all the damage.
They were superbly supported by their fielders, who took all catches that came their way, and saved as many runs as they could.
Unfortunately, the Dubai Scholars batting was a huge let-down, as they were all out for a paltry 27 in just 12 overs. The DPS Sharjah bowlers, especially spinners, were to hot to handle, with figures of 4-8 for Aakash, and 2-3 for Arshaq.
The Dubai Modern High School defeated The Indian High School Dubai in another one sided match.
Dubai Modern High, electing to bat first, posted 144 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Varun Totadri top scored with 39 and was instrumental in building a partnership for the third wicket with captain Shorey Chopra (17), and for the fourth wicket with Anjaney (24).
