Two matches will be played every day before the final which is scheduled for September 2. In the other match of the opening day, Interface Transworld will again be seen in action, this time against Sharjah Club at 10pm.
Featuring eight top teams, the tournament is being organized the Dubai Sports City under the auspices of the Dubai Cricket Council to provide a great opportunity to local players to experience the thrill of playing matches at the state-of-the-art facility which was opened with the Australia-Pakistan series on April 22, 2009.
The eight teams are divided in two groups and a total of 15 matches will be played before the champions are crowned. Each team will play a minimum of three matches. Elegant trophies, accompanied by attractive cash prizes, will be presented to the top teams and the players.
One of the highlights of the tournament is presence of a couple of UAE national players leading their sides in the field. Following in the footsteps of his father, Waleed Bukhatir will lead the Sharjah Club side while Mohammed Tauqir, the former UAE captain, will captain the ECB Blues. First class players from India and Pakistan will also be seen in action.
The teams are:
GROUP A: ECB Blues, Phoenix Medicines, Pack2 Go, Seven Seas Strikers
GROUP B: Yogi Group, Gyan Steel, Interface Transworld, Sharjah Club.
