Dubai Warriors, Pride Shipping score victories
UMM AL QUWAIN - An unbeaten 98 by Wazeer Khan helped Dubai Warriors CC edge past Trade Allianz Al Badar CC by 30 runs in the 3rd Umm Al Quwain T-20 Primer League, played under the auspices of the Ajman Cricket Council and supervision of the Emirates Cricket Board, at Umm Al Quwain ground.
Batting first on winning the toss, Dubai Warriors posted 191 for the loss of seven wickets with man-of-the-match Wazeer remaining stranded on 98. He hit nine boundaries and two sixes in his 53-ball. Imran (42) and Nabeel (20) were the other contributors for Warriors. Abdul and Nigel picked up two wickets each for Trade Allianz conceding 32 and 34 runs respectively.
In reply, Al Badar managed 161 losing nine wickets with Jarnail (33), Naeem (30), Ganesh (18), Surinder (17) and Butt (16 not out) giving their best. Faraz claimed three wickets while Younus and Adeel bagged one each.
In another match, Umer scored a century for Solanki Construction CC but had to end on the losing side as they lost to Pride Shipping by two wickets.
Pride Shipping reached the 214-run victory target set by Solanki losing eight wickets. Man-of-the-match Daniel (50), Shahzad (40), Sahid (40) and Azhar (23) were the main scorers for the winners. Abdur Rehman claimed three wickets while Sajed and Ismail picked up two each. Earlier, Solanki scored 213 for the loss of five wickets thanks to a 53-ball 140 by Umer, who hit six sixes and 19 fours. M Javeed picked up two wickets.
In other matches, Indo XI lost to Hyper Group Players by eight wickets while Dutco Tennant lost to Golden Tower 42 runs with Varun (Golden Tower) and Ali Ahmed (Hyper Group) walked away with the man-of-the-match awards.
