Emirates NBD to take on Active IT

DUBAI — Emirates NBD will face Active IT Distribution for the top slot in Pool E on Monday in the 9th Dulsco Ramadan Cricket tournament at Zabeel Park Dubai, a press release said.

Both teams have won their earlier matches and will fight it out for the top place in the 20-over tournament, organised by Dulsco SC in association with the Dubai Municipality.

In another important match, United Arab Bank will take on NTDE. Three teams from Group F — UNB, AEN and AGE Group — stand a chance to advance. If UAB win by a big margin against NTDE, then AEN with two wins and AGE Group with two points will fight it out on Tuesday for a spot in the next stage.

In the event of AEN winning then they will advance at the expense of AGE Group, who also stand a chance if they win by a big margin.

UAB need an outright big victory for their second win in the group to strengthen their chances of progressing while NTDE will play for honour after losing their two earlier matches.

National Pest Control and Standard Chartered Bank lost both their matches in Group E, leaving Emirates NBD and Active IT to fight it out for a place in the pre-quarterfinals. Meanwhile SCB failed to turn up for their match on Saturday night and National Pest Control got a walkover.

All the teams, except for Group F, are finalised for the pre-quarters. Yogi Group and Brookefield Multiplex have advanced from Group A, Jashanmal National Company and Afridi CC have progressed from B while Uniforge Bhatkal CC and Pacers Ramadi have made it from Group C. Hosts Dulsco SC and Carfare XI Dubai (Group D) and Active IT Distribution and Emirate NBD (Group E) have qualified for the pre-quarters.
