The meeting came as divisions grow in Europe over the proposed tariffs
The tournament is organised by Young Talents Cricket Academy, under the auspices of Abu Dhabi Cricket Council. Oudh Al Anfar, opting to bat first, rallied from losing early wickets to post 121 runs, but it wasn’t enough as Interface cruised to 125 for the loss of four wickets with 3.1 overs to spare.
Interface’s win was made possible by some fine bowling by Shahrukh Khan, who rocked the Oudh top-order with his three-wicket burst. Shahrukh’s four-over spell cost him 30 runs, in fact he was the only player to bowl a maiden over in the match.
Oudh Al Anfar’s middle-order batsman Saad Aslam hit an entertaining 42 off 38 balls, containing five boundaries and six, to give some respectability to the total.
Chasing not a very huge total, the Interface batsmen were in no hurry to lay their hands on the trophy as they paced their innings to a nicety.
Interface lost opener Fahad Tariq with just 26 on board, but patient knocks by Nalin Khaitan (24 off 31 balls), Ibitsham Mohammed (32 off 31) and Fawad Gafoor (24 not out) ensured a smooth victory.
The tournament is sponsored by Interface Transworld, while co sponsors are - Nissan Tiida and Cool & Cool, Support Sponsors - UAE Exchange, Oudh Al Anfar, Everest Sports, Official Hotel - Copthorne Hotel, Radio Partners – Hum FM, Television Partners – NTV.
Brief scores (final): Interface Transworld bt Oudh Al Anfar by 6 wkts. Oudh Al Anfar 121 all out in 19.3 overs (Saad Aslam 42, Ibrahim 18; Shahrukhn Khan 3/30, Ramveer Rai 2/18). Interface Transworld 125 for 4 wkts in 16.5 overs (Nalin Khaitan 24, Ibitsham Mohd. 32, Fawad Gafoor 24; Abdullah Azhar 2/13).
