Iqbal, Amir Shine as Pakistan School Win

ABU DHABI - Breezy half centuries from Hamza Iqbal and Inayat Amir provided the platform for Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Pakistan School to score a convincing 121-run win over the International School of Choueifat in the Under 16 Lifebuoy Abu Dhabi inter-school cricket tournament at the ADCC grounds on Sunday.

Pakistan School made 219 for five and bowled out Choueifat to 98 with Ahmed Yousuf and Mohammed Jalal taking three wickets apiece.

Iqbal and Amir shared a 119-run partnership for the fourth wicket for the Pakistan School to put up a challenging total after electing to take the first lease of the wicket. Iqbal hit three fours and a six in his 63 and Amir struck three sixes and an equal number of fours for his 64.

The result took Pakistan School to the semifinals from Group B with the British School-Al Khubairat and Cambridge High school set to battle for the other spot.

Brief scores: Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Pakistan School bt International School of Choueifat by 121 runs. Pakistan School 219 for 5 in 25 overs (Arsalan Butt 47, Hamza Iqbal 63, Inayat Amir 64, Mujtaba Khan 2-38). Choueifat 98 all out in 18.1 overs (Dan D’Souza 25, Ahmed Yousuf 3-29, Mohammed Jalal 3-10).
