The tournament was organised by the Sharjah Cricket Council, and was played at the Sharjah stadium. Khurram, one of the leading all-rounders in the UAE, first snared three wickets for 33 runs, and then hammered an unbeaten 57 to set up a facile win for Fly Emirates.

Rufi Real Estate, batting first, scored a modest 166 before being all out in the 44th over despite, a fine half century by Rohan Mustafa, who made 53 off 80 balls with five fours and two sixes. Jahangir (21 off 46 balls) also chipped in with a useful contribution, but all the other Rufi Real Estate batsmen could not perform against a disciplined Fly Emirates attack. Digging deep into his vast experience, Khurram bowled to a tidy line and length, never allowing the Rufi Real Estate batsmen to score freely. Amjad Javed and Yaseen further made inroads into the Rufi Real Estate batting line-up, taking two wickets each.

Fly Emirates, who lost their opening match to ECB Blues, came back strongly, and achieved the victory target in just 33.4 overs. Khurram followed his fine spell of bowling with a sensible knock of 57 off 91 balls which included five fours. Arshad Ali (52 off 70 balls with two fours and one six) and Lalith Dassanayake (22 not out) maintained the tempo of the game, making solid contributions to the total to ensure Fly Emirates romped home without any hiccups.

Brief scores: Fly Emirates beat Rufi Real Estate by six wickets. Rufi Real Estate 166 all out in 43.3 overs (Rohan Mustafa 53, Jahangir 21; Khurram Khan 3-33, Amjad Javed 2-29, Yaseen 2-31). Fly Emirates 169 for four in 33.4 overs (Khurram Khan 57 not out, Arshad Ali 52, Lalith Dassanayake 22 not out; Rohan Mustafa 2-34). Man of the match: Khurram Khan.
