Madan Lal Academy claim U-15 title

DUBAI — In the final of the Home Centre International Cup at Longhirst Hall in Morpeth, UK, Madan Lal Cricket Academy won the under-15 title by beating Cleveland Cricket Club by seven wickets, a press release said.

The tournament is being organised by Young Talents Cricket Academyunder the auspices of Durham Cricket County. Batting first, Cleveland scored 125 in their allotted 30 overs. Karan Vir Gogia took two wickets and Jaisal took two wickets as well. In reply, Madan Lal knocked off the winning runs easily losing only three wickets with Maher Bhalla scoring an unbeaten 55. In the under-17 final, Durham defeated Madan Lal Cricket Academy by six wickets.

Batting first, Madan Lal Cricket Academy collapsed to 159 with Sikander Bahl scoring 25. Durham hit the winning runs easily with J Coiny scoring a brilliant 90 as he held the Durham innings together.

The following awards were given at the Closing Ceremony: Under 17 Best Batsman: James Coiny of Durham Cricket Academy; Under 17Best Bowler: Vishakh Chandrasekhar of Young Talent Cricket Academy; Under 17 Best Fielder:Jawad Qazi of Zayed Cricket Academy; Under 17 Player of the Tournament: Sikander Bahl of Madan Lal Cricket Academy.

The Under 15 awards: Under 15 Best Batsman: Maher Bhallaof Madan Lal Cricket Academy; Under 15 Best Bowler:Karan Gogia of Madan Lal Cricket Academy; Under 15Best Fielder:Calum Man of Durham Cricket Academy; Under 15Player of the Tournament:Shiv Mehra of Young Talent Cricket Academy.
