They began their campaign with a 49-run victory win over Ajman University of Science & Technology in Pool C at the Global Refinish-Maxway ground, Sharjah.

Manipal University, batting first, made 168 for 6 in 20 overs. Prakash Gurbani (44), Glickson Correa (27) and Ashif Amla (26) were the main contributors with the bat, while Babar Badar (3/31) and Rehman (2/29) were the successful bowlers for the fielding side.

Ajman University of Science & Technology, in reply, could only make 119 for 8 in 20 overs. Babar (32) was the top-scorer for the losers, while Shivaan Kamania (3/15) was the star bowler for the winners. In the second match of the day, London American City College were in top form as they defeated Emirates Aviation College by 63 runs.
