Media teams set for Grand Midwest Cricket Challenge

DUBAI — Come weekend and it will be a great day out for families and players when the Grand Midwest Media Cricket Challenge kicks off at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on April 9-10.

The two-day media festival will include 13 teams from different media houses. The teams are divided into four groups and the top team from each group play in the semifinals.

Group A will have Cool FM, The Media Factory and Ten Sports. Group B will have Radio Spice, Radio Asia and Dream team. Group C consists of Pehla, Etisalat and Khaleej Times. Group D has Gulf Today, Radio Four, ITP and What’s on. The tournament will also feature huge entertainment with the Grand Media music concerts peforming live on April 9. Ali Zafar, Ahmed Jehanzeb and Sukhbir would perform at regular intervals with celebrities Amir Suahil and Moin Khan along with film stars Meera, Sana, Aijaz Aslam and Humayun.

The Miss Media competition will be held on April 9 and 10 while Indian top cricketer Sachin Tendulkar will receive the international cricketer of the year award, former Pakistan cricketer Imran Khan will get the international cricket legend award. All the captains of the teams thanked the sponsors and organisers for conducting such a tournament at the draw meet held at the Grand Midwest hotel on Monday.
