Spearheaded by a blazing unbeaten century from in-form Shorye Chopra, Modern High School trounced Emirates English Speaking School by 119 runs en route to the final while DPS Sharjah kept up their dominance over the Indian High School, winning their semifinal match by 32 runs.

Modern High School held sway against Emirates English Speaking School almost at will. Batting first, they posted a massive 227 for four in the allotted 20 overs. Chopra, playing with authority, led a blistering charge on the tentative attack of Emirates English Speaking School by cracking a stroke-filled 123 not out off just 59 balls which included 17 hits to the fence and two over it.

Chopra was well supported by Varun Totadri, who also joined the run feast, chipping with an equally aggressive 72 as Modern High School seized the early initiative without much fuss. Karan Raju, Ibrahim Sharaf and Dilkash Zeeshan took one wicket each, but they failed to make any impression on the rampaging Modern High School batsmen.

Emirates English Speaking School, in reply, were restricted to 108 for seven, thanks to Yash Narang, who bowled brilliantly to take three wickets for just 10 runs. Kuldeep Kumar (32) and Pratik Shetty (24) made good starts to their innings, but their efforts only tended to delay the inevitable.

In other semifinal match, DPS, batting first, did well to post a challenging 160 for three with Aakarsh Malhotra remaining not out on a solid 69. Aagam Shah (28) and Siddarth Sekhar (22) further consolidated the gains with some fine batting.

The Indian High School, in reply, could manage only 128 for six despite some good batting by Harsheshi Gokari (32) and Jay Joshi (28). Siddarth Sekar rounded off a fine all-round performance by taking two wickets for 26 runs while Aman Handa, Akash Sharma, Yash Shedhan and Dhruwa Parveen picked up one each to help their Seal a facile win in the end.

The tournament is being organised by the Sharjah Cricket Council under the auspices of the Emirates Cricket Board.
