Qazi made a top score of 46 on a ground where runs were at a premium because of the slow outfield. He then took four for 21 from his five overs and Elvin Corneal three for 20 in 4.4 overs to bowl out Pakistan School to 102 in reply to Cambridge’s 131 all out in their 25 overs.

A sound opening partnership of 82 in 15.2 overs between Qazi and Bilal Passela (19) set them the platform for a challenging total. Saif Ullah and Ikram Uddin later ran through the rest of the Cambridge batting by taking seven wickets between them.

In an Under-14 game, Sherwood Academy made it two-out-of-two with a 121-run win over the Pakistan School at the adjoining Academy grounds.

The Sherwood openers Mohammed Riyan (44) and Shaun Shibu (48) put on a 120-run stand, and the next two batsmen Bikramjeet Singh (44) and the captain Mohammed Saad (46 not out) chipped in with useful contributions for them to post 244 for five.

However, both schools with two win each advance to the semifinals from the group B that also includes the British School-Al Khubairat and Al Taawan Private School.
