No international team is ready to tour Pakistan due to security concerns which is hurting the game. Pakistan cricket Board is forced to organise home series abroad. Other than losing home advantage it is taking toll on players who are on the road and in the air for the whole year.

Despite all these hurdles Pakistan have won seven ODI series in 2013. Captain Misbahul Haq emerged top scorer with 1373 runs followed by mohammad Hafeez with 1301 runs and Saeed Ajmal once again showed why he is rated among the best as he was the top wicket-taker with 62, followed by Junaid Khan 52 in the year 2013.

The latest hurdle faced by the PCB is home-grown one as courts are not letting the board to work. Moin Khan (the manager of Pakistan team) was made chief selector but the court stopped him from resuming his duties. The Islamabad High Court on Wednesday reinstated Zaka Ashraf to the post of chairman of the PCB which will make the problem more complicated. The sitting chairman Najam Sethi has said time and again that it is difficult to perform duties under such conditions. This ad hocism is hurting Pakistan cricket very much.

Moin’s appointment as a manager has brought a breath of fresh air in the team and being a true professional he has improved the level of discipline and dressing room looks much more happier. He is very active and is always ready to deal with any problem.

Moin said: “It is making life difficult for the PCB to take any decision. There are a host of issues pending but the court is not allowing the PCB to work. “Coach Dav Whatmore is leaving at the end of this series and there are two major tournaments approaching — Asia Cup and World Twenty20, but the board cannot hire the new coach.”

“This type of uncertainty will have negative effect on the team’s performance. If the selectors are not sure about their job how can they select a squad. It is my humble request to the authorities to sort out these matters as early as possible because we have so many other issues to deal with.”
