Najibullah hit a 39-ball 69 to help his team reach the 119 target set by Rotory Humm in 17.1 overs. He hit five sixes and four boundaries as he batted with confidence.

Earlier Rotory Humm, electing to bat after winning the toss struggled to put on 118 for the loss of nine wickets.

The 20-over tournament, organized by Dulsco Sports Club in association with the Dubai Municipality, is being played under the auspices of the Dubai Cricket Council.

Chasing a relatively easy victory target, AMI lost opener Gul for eight and one-down Abrar for no score. However, Najibullah kept his end intact despite losing four of his colleagues. He put the Rotory Humm attack to the sword, smashing the bowlers all over the field. Kapila gave Najibullah support as he contributed 17 runs from 16 deliveries. But it was Najibullah, the man of the match, who made the victory look easy.

AMI has earlier lost to Pacers Ramadi in their first Group C match.

Manooj claimed two AMI wickets for 18 runs while Sajid picked up one whilst conceding 16 runs.

Batting first Rotory Humm found the going tough against a disciplined AMI attack.

Despite getting a very good start they could not convert it into a big score. Asif and Manooj put on 60 runs for the opening wicket.

After Najeeb bowled Manooj for 14, one-down Farooq scored 24. However, after Asif was leg before to Rizwan for 42, the middle order failed to carry on where the good work done by their team-mates. No other batsmen reached double figures as they struggled to put on 118 in the allotted 20 overs.

Rizwan was the most economical bowler for the winners with three wickets whilst conceding 10 runs. Supresh and Aashman bagged two each for 23 and 36 runs respectively. Najeeb gave AMI the breakthrough breaking the opening partnership. Pacers Hamadi and Bhatkal CC are the other teams in this group who have posted victories.
