Twenty team from all over the UAE have confirmed their participation in the tournament. They have been divided into four groups with five teams in each group. There will be two games every evening. The group matches will be played on a league basis and the top two teams from each group will qualify for the knockout stage. Altogether, 47 matches will be played.
The winners will be richer by Dh 20,000, while the runners-up will get Dh 12,000. There are various cash prizes for individual performances. The Man of the Final will get Dh 500, while the Man of the Match in the semifinals will get Dh 250. The Man of the Match in the quarterfinals will get Dh 150.
The Best Batsman of the Tournament will get Dh 1000, while the Best Bowler will get Dh 1000. The Man of the Tournament will get Dh 2000.
The tournament will be played under floodlights. Each team can have a squad of 18 players. Overseas players will be allowed to play without any restrictions.
However, to qualify to play for the knockout stage, a player must have played at least one group game.
Raziq Khan took three wickets and laid the foundation at the top of the order to seal Nissan Al Masaood’s victory. Opting to bat, UBL made 157 for the loss of six wickets in their 20 overs. Wicketkeeper and opening batsman Abdul Rehman top scored with 42 from 45 balls with five boundaries. One-down Asif Ijaz made 39 from 25 balls with the help of four boundaries and a six. Faisal Butt pushed the score to 157 by scoring an unbeaten 15 from seven balls with two boundaries and a six.
Raziq Khan took three wickets conceding 25 runs.
In reply, Nissan Al Masaood reached the target losing five wickets. Raziq Khan top scored with 34 from 19 balls with five boundaries and two sixes. Captain and one-down batsman Mohd. Usman made 30 from 35 balls with four boundaries. Khurram Ahmed scored 28 from 21 balls with three boundaries and a six, while Zaheer Baig made 23.
Shahzad Khan took three wickets for 16.
UBL were penalized 21 runs due to slow over rate.
