Nissan, Tyger and Pal move into quarters

DUBAI - Nissan Al Masaood, Tyger and Pal advanced to the quarter-finals of the ADCC President’s Cup division-two tournament after picking up maximum points from their four group phase games.

Inam Farid smashed an unbeaten century to lead Al Masaood to a convincing 107-run win over Abu Dhabi Airport Services to top Group E over the weekend.

Farid hit 11 fours and five sixes in a top score of 104 not out for the automobile dealers to post 215 for five. ADAS were bowled out for 108 with Razqi Khan and Mohammed Rafiq claiming three wickets apiece.

Tyger defeated Technip by seven wickets and Pal overcame Golden Real Estate by six wickets to top Group C and G respectively. The top six teams and the two best second-placed sides will move to the last eight.

Arfan Haider and Asim Khurshid blasted centuries as William Hare Abu Dhabi Gymkhana routed Sheikh Khalifa Medical Centre by 212 runs.

Haider (101 run out) and Khurshid (107 retd hurt) went on the rampage from the onset to share an entertaining 264-run stand for the opening wicket that setup their team to post 297 for six in the truncated 20-over-a-side game.

Haider hit 15 fours and five sixes, and Khurshid smashed 10 fours and half-a-dozen sixes, as they made merry against a hapless SKMC attack.
