NMC and Gymkhana enter semis in Ramadan tourney

NMC defeated Eurocon Alubond by seven wickets, while William Hare Abu Dhabi Gymkhana scored a 36-run win over Ibsons CC, in the quarter-finals.

Put into bat, Eurocon Alubond were restricted to 127 for the loss of nine wickets in their 20 overs. Mohammed Azam top scored with 30 from 21 balls with three boundaries and a six. UAE international Saqib Ali snapped up three wickets for 15 runs, while Shadeep Silva took two for 29.

Saqib Ali then scored an unbeaten 60 from 39 balls, which was studded with seven boundaries and two sixes, to take NMC home in 18.1 overs, losing three wickets.

In the other game, Irfan Haider took four for 21 as William Hare Abu Dhabi Gymkhana beat Ibsons CC by 36 runs.

Put into bat, William Hare Abu Dhabi Gymkhana made 167 for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. Sajjad Saeed made 38 from 18 balls with four boundaries and two sixes, while Saqib Shah scored 32 from 20 balls with six boundaries.

Khurram Bhatti took three for 30.

Ibsons CC were all out for 131 in 19.5 overs. Ghulam Fareed made 39 from 33 balls with four boundaries.

Irfan Haider snapped up four wickets for 21 runs, while Asim Khurshid took three for 17. Abdul Haq took two for 12.

Eurocon Alubond: 127 for 9 in 20 overs (Mohammed Azam 30, Saqib Ali 3-15, Shadeep Silva 2-29) lost to NMC: 129 for 3 in 18.1 overs (Saqib Ali 60 n.o) by 7 wickets.

William Hare Abu Dhabi Gymkhana: 167 for 7 in 20 overs (Sajjad Saeed 38, Saqib Shah 32, Khurram Bhatti 3-30) beat Ibsons CC: 131 all out in 19.5 overs (Ghulam Fareed 39, Irfan Haider 4-21, Asim Khurshid 3-17, Abdul Haq 2-12) by 36 runs.
