The tournament is being organised by the Sharjah Cricket Council, and played at the Sharjah stadium.

Spearheaded by fine half-centuries from Saqib Ali, Ishan Ali and Indika Sampath, the defending champions defeated Gyan Steel by 44 runs without much fuss.

The premier outfit from Abu Dhabi seized the early initiative, scoring a challenging 275 for seven in the allotted 46 overs.

Former UAE captain Saqib Ali led the batting charge with a solid 72 off 106 balls which included seven fours.

Ishan Ali (60 off 71 balls with three fours) and Indika Sampath (50 off as many balls with three fours and two sixes) further consolidated the gains with some entertaining batting.

Niresh Fernando (21 off 13 balls) and Atif Ijaz (24 off 20) also made their presence felt, chipping in with useful contributions to ensure NMC end their innings on a high note.

Zaheer claimed four wickets for 61 runs while Faisal picked up three 35, but their efforts failed to prevent the NMC batsmen from taking control of the match.

Gyan Steel, in reply, were bowled out for 232 in the 44th overs despite a brilliant half-century by Kashif Khan.

The talented batsman scored 63 off 78 balls with three fours and one six while Haris (39) and Zaheer (34 off 37 balls) also contributed to the total, but, in the end, they failed to match pace with the asking rate.

The NMC attack was spot on, hardly allowing the Gyan Steel batsmen to break loose.

Atif, Shadeep Silva, Sanjeewa Dias snared two wickets each while Majula and Saqib Ali claimed one each to help NMC seal a comfortable win.
