England Lions lead the six-game series 2-1.
England Lions won their warm-up game by 52 runs against UAE A in Sharjah, before they defeated Pakistan A by seven wickets and eight wickets in the first and second games respectively, in the matches held in Sharjah.
The tour shifted to Abu Dhabi and two more games will be played here on Wednesday. England Lions take on England, while Pakistan A lock horns with Pakistan. The tour then shifts to Dubai where England Lions and Pakistan A renew their rivalry, while the first teams England and Pakistan play two Twenty20 Internationals at the Dubai Sports City.
In a tense last two overs in which Pakistan lost two wickets, that of Aamer Sajjad and Naeem Anjum, they required two runs from two balls and Tanvir Ahmed cracked a boundary to seal the win.
Earlier, in pursuit of 147, Pakistan A went along the chase in a disciplined manner, despite losing a couple of wickets.
They were also aided by the England Lions bowlers who conceded 17 extras.
One down batsman Asad Shafiq was dropped on two by Steven Finn off Steve Kirby and he went on to make 31 from 24 balls with four boundaries.
No.4 batsman Umair Khan top scored with 49 and should have got a well-deserved half-century but he was castled by Kirby.
Umair’s knock was studded with four boundaries and a six.
Steve Kirby took three for 33, while leg spinner Adil Rashid, took one wicket conceding 35 runs.
His last over was expensive as he gave away 15 runs in the 16th over of Pakistan A’s innings.
Earlier, England Lions posted 146 for the loss of four wickets. Opener Craig Kieswetter, who plays for Somerset and had also featured for the South Africa Under 19s, top scored with 50 from 32 balls. He clubbed five boundaries and three sixes in his knock.
No.4 batsman Andrew Gale remained unbeaten on a run-a-ball 36 with three boundaries. Ian Bell scored 17 from 18 balls with one boundary, while Peter Trego cracked an unbeaten 14 from nine balls with two boundaries.
