Pakistan A whitewashes Afghanistan

FAISALABAD — Unbeaten half centuries by Sarfraz Ahmed and Saad Nasim lifted a second-string Pakistan side to a four-wicket victory over Afghanistan in the third and final one-day match on Sunday.

Ahmed hit an unbeaten 61 and No. 8 Nasim scored 50 off 41 balls to guide Pakistan A to a 3-0 series victory.

Afghanistan posted a challenging 274-9 off its 50 overs, with opening batsman Noor Ali Zardan scoring 51. Pakistan A were struggling at 183-6 in the 36th over before Ahmed and Nasim shared a match-winning 95-run stand as the home team made 278-6 in 48.1 overs.

Afghanistan was the first foreign team to tour Pakistan since the Sri Lankan team bus was attacked in March 2009.
