Both sides have been eliminated from the four-nation tournament after losing to finalists India and Sri Lanka.
Batting first, Pakistan made 385-7, its largest ever total in one-day international cricket. Captain Shahid Afridi hit a career-best 124 off 60 balls, and three other batsmen made half centuries: Imran Farhat (66), Shahzaib Hasan (50) and Umar Akmal (50).
Pakistan’s previous highest total was 371-9 against Sri Lanka in 1996.
Bangladesh, in reply, made 246-5 in 50 overs. Junaid Siddique fell three runs short of his maiden limited-overs century.
Siddique and Imrul Kayes shared the team’s best partnership for the second wicket, 160 in 197 balls, surpassing a 150-run stand between Mohammad Rafique and Aftab Ahmed against Zimbabwe in 2005.
Siddique faced 114 balls and hit six boundaries and two sixes in recording his third half-century in limited overs. Kayes made 66 off 110 balls.
Pakistan openers Farhat and Hasan justified Afridi’s decision to bat first by carrying their team to 81 without loss.
Afridi lashed 17 boundaries and four sixes. At one point, he hit two fours, a six and five more boundaries in successive balls faced in a three-over span, rushing him from 62 to 96 en route to his sixth limited-overs century, and second of the Asia Cup.
His previous best ODI score was 109.
Bangladeshi seam bowler Shafiul Islam took three wickets but went for 95 runs in 10 overs.
