Phoenix Medicine win

DUBAI - Phoenix Medicine gave a dose of their superiority as Imran Khan picked up three wickets to help his team easily beat Dubai Eaglets by eight wickets in the Debonairs Pizza Floodlit Tournament which is conducted by the Dubai Cricket Council at the ICC Global Academy in Dubai Sports City.

Imran was at his devastating best as he bowled a telling spell with the new ball to prise out the top three batsmen to have Dubai Eaglets tottering at three wickets down for eight runs in his spell of five overs.

He first picked up openers Adnan and Saqib and then had number three Kashif Javed caught by Asif to bag the top three batsmen and do well for his team.

Asif Mumtaz with a sedate knock of 19 runswith a four and a six gave the innings some respectability while down the order, Haroon complemented his effort with a quick fire knock of 27 runs in seventeen balls with a couple of fours and sixes to take them to a total of 80 runs.

Khawar Baloch and Waseem polished off the tail picking up two wickets each.

Phoenix Medicine openers Fahad Ansari and Sadam Butt then rattled off 79 runs in quick time for the opening partnership with Fahad making 28 runs with five fours and Sadam Butt racing to 37 runs in 22 balls with seven fours but both were out to Asif Mumtaz who bagged two wickets for two runs.

ECB Blues down Nucaf

SHARJAH - Ahmed Raza and Mohammed Tauqir snared three wickets each to guide ECB Blues to a tense 11-run victory over Nucaf Telllicherry in the Sharjah Summer Cup, organised by the Sharjah Cricket Council, at the Sharjah stadium.

Raza conceded 21 runs while Tauqir gave away 22 for their respective hauls as ECB Blues, defending a total of 131 for seven, bowled out Nucaf Tellicherry for 120 in the 20th over to register a well-deserved win.

ECB Blues, batting first, built their innings around Satya Prakash who scored 34 off 29 balls with four fours.

Chirag Suri (21 off 16 balls) and Amjad Ali (20 off 11 balls) further consolidated the innings with some fluent batting.

Shamsher Ali was the most successful Nucaf Tellicherry bowler, taking three wickets for 14 runs.

Nucaf Tellicherry, in reply, had their chances, but they failed to provide finishing touch to their innings despite good knocks by Prashant Braggs (44 off 30 balls) and Syed Maqsood (36 off 38 balls).
