It was Prathik and Kuldeep who held the centre-stage with brilliant all-round performances. Prathik cracked an unbeaten 113 with 15 fours and two sixes while Kuldeep slammed an equally-aggressive 112 not out which included 16 fours and one six.
Their authoritative display of batting helped Emirates English Speaking School to pile up a mammoth 246 for no loss. Gulf Asian English School, in reply, were shot out for 115 in 17 overs with Prathik and Kuldeep snaring three wickets each. Arman Mohammed (40) and Imran Shahul (20) offered some resistance to the Emirates English Speaking School attack, but their efforts only tended to delay the inevitable.
DPS Sharjah did well to post 140 for seven with Siddharth Seker (24) and Aangam Shah (22 not out) making a useful contribution to the total. Their opponents Our Own School, Sharjah, had no answer to the spot-on DPS attack and were bowled out for 59 with Aagam Shah (three for nine) doing most of the damage.
The match between Indian High School, Dubai, and Delhi Private School, Dubai, produced a good fight before the former walked away with a fine victory. Spearheaded by a solid 70 not out by Jay Joshi, HIS posted a challenging 159 for five. DPS, in reply, were restricted to 130 for six despite good innings by Akhilesh (49 with five fours) and Tanmay Anand (38). Hanumanth Kumar was the most successful IHS bowler, claiming two wickets for 18 runs.
