Raza guides ECB Blues to victory
SHARJAH — Amjad Ali scored a fluent half-century while Ahmed Raza returned with an impressive four-wicket haul as ECB Blues defeated Lanka Lions ‘B’ team by 41 runs in the second Al Dhaid Ramadan T-20 tournament, organized by the Sharjah Cricket Council, for the Conmix Cup at Al Dhaid Cricket Village.
Amjad hammered 59 off 42 balls to help ECB Blues score a healthy 159 for eight. Abdul Rehman (41 off 34 balls) was the other major scorer. Amila, Pradeep and Duminda took two wickets each for Lanka Lions, but their efforts failed to prevent ECB Blues from reaching a respectable score.
The Lanka Lions ‘B’ team, in reply, were bowled out for 118 in the 18th over in the face of some disciplined bowling by Ahmed Raza who picked up four wickets for just eight runs to set up a comfortable win for his side. Khurram Khan and Mohammed Tauqir also made inroads in the Lanka Lions innings, taking two wickets each.
For Lanka Lions, Mahesh (30 not out off 17 balls) and Asanka (28 off 29 balls) played well, but without much success.
