Batting first, Pal CC made 155 for the loss of eight wickets in their 20 overs. Middle-order batsman Umar Shah scored an unbeaten 51 from 34 balls, which was studded with four boundaries and two sixes. Opener Naveed Khan made 40 from 26 balls, with the help of four boundaries and two sixes.
Manjula Guruge, Saqib Ali, Sanjeeva Dias and Shadeep Silva took two wickets each. In reply, NMC got home in 14 overs, losing just one wicket. Opener Indika Sampath made 69 from 36 balls, which was peppered with eight boundaries and three sixes. The other opener and captain Sandeep Shetty scored an unbeaten 67 from 34 balls, with five boundaries and five sixes.
In the other game, ESI Dare Devils’ decision to take first strike backfired as they were shot out for 70 in 14.5 overs. Prakash Patel waged a lone battle, scoring 35 from 34 balls with four boundaries.
William Hare Abu Dhabi Gymkhana captain Zayed Mustafa took two for 28, while Asim Khurshid picked up two wickets for two runs.
In reply, William Hare Abu Dhabi Gymkhana reached the target in six overs, losing just two wickets.
