Semifinalists Spotted in Al Ain Invitation
DUBAI — Lulu International Exchange and Al Attar from Group A and Bin Mosa & Daly and Al Ain CC from Group B entered the semifinals of the second Al Ain Sportplex Invitation cricket tournament, a press release said.
In the last group matches, Dhabi Defender registered there first win over strong Al Ain CC.
Batting first, Al Ain managed 149 for 9 in 20 overs thanks to some good batting by Sanam Aftab 39 and Choudhary Nisar 33.
In reply, Dhabi Defender reached the target in the last over. Tahseen Zaidi scored 49 and Yasir Maharvi was named the man of the match for his allround show.
In the other match, Attar defeated Al Ain Eagles by 49 runs. Al Attar scored 229 for 4. Jahangir made 51 of 42 balls, while Asif scored 50 and Owais
made 45.
Al Ain Eagles’ Mohammad Ishaq scored a brilliant 104 but went in vain.
In another match, Bank Warriors won on last ball against Al Ain Sportplex Academy.
Sportplex Academy made 149 in 20 overs. In reply, Bank Warriors started well with man of the match Achin making 73 off just 57 balls .
In the last and final game, Bin Mosa & Daly were in a must win situation and they did it in style by defeating XI by five wickets. Mahesh Shetty scored 31.
