Aided by 78 extras and a quick-fire 75 from Abha Abubakar, the captain, Pakistan School amassed 275. Our Own, in reply, were all out for 65 with five of their batsmen running themselves out to go down by 120 runs in the Group B opener.

Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Pakistan School, put into bat, kept the run rate flowing despite losing wickets at regular intervals. They were 115 for five in 11 overs; the extras conceded crossing the half century mark. And then, walked in Abubakar, who smashed the bowling all round the park for his 74 in 45 deliveries.

Brief scores: Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Pakistan School bt Our Own English High School by 210 runs. Pakistan School 275 all out in 24.5 overs (Ali Ahmed 20, Abha Abubakar 74, Bilal Mohammed 20, Asim Mohammed 15, Mohammed Shameem 3-43, Haris Gori 3-53). Our Own 65 all out in 15 overs (Hassan Kanchwale 16, Charles 2-5).
