Sharjah Cricket Academy team stun Spencer Club

DUBAI — The U-14 Sharjah Cricket Academy boys won their opening match of the UK tour against Spencer Club in Surrey by 14 runs, a press release said.

Batting first, Sharjah Cricket Academy scored 129 for five in 20 overs. Aagam was in top form scoring 37 with five fours while Divyendu Shekhar scored 30 with four fours. Salman Raza and Dhruva Praveen both scored 13. For Spencer Club, Maru Shah Patel picked up 3 for 13 and Mike Burns took 2 for 29.

Chasing a target of 129, Spencer Club were restricted to 114 for 9 wickets with some fine bowling performances from Aagam (3 for 20), Dhruva Narendra Bhagdikar (2 for 17) and Mohammed Akbar (2 for 3). For hosts, Spencer Club, Charlie Stewart played a good knock of 38 with three fours while Ed Smith, Kana Lal and Mike Charles contributed 13 runs each to the score.
