Fast bowler Steven Finn replaced the injured James Anderson in the England side while Sri Lanka selected pace bowlers Chanaka Welegedara and Dilharo Fernando in place of Thisara Perera and Ajantha Mendis.

England won the first test in the three-match series by an innings and 14 runs in Cardiff on Monday.

England - Andrew Strauss (captain), Alastair Cook, Jonathan Trott, Kevin Pietersen, Ian Bell, Eoin Morgan, Matt Prior, Stuart Broad, Graeme Swann, Chris Tremlett, Steven Finn.

Sri Lanka - Tharanga Paranavitana, Tillakaratne Dilshan (captain), Kumar Sangakkara, Mahela Jayawardene, Thilan Samaraweera, Prasanna Jayawardene, Farveez Maharoof, Chanaka Welegedara, Rangana Herath, Dilhara Fernando, Suranga Lakmal.

Umpires: Rod Tucker (Australia) and Billy Doctrove (West Indies).
