Swapnil stars for Yogi Group; Tyger CC score narrow win
ABU DHABI — Wicketkeeper-batsman Swapnil Patel scored a half-century to script Yogi Group’s comprehensive 105-run win over ADFC in the Carpetland Ramadan Cup Twenty20 tournament at the Shaikh Zayed International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday night.In the other match of the night, Tyger CC scored a narrow four-run win over Krithi Interiors.
Batting first Yogi Group, Yogi Group made 200 for the loss of eight wickets in their 20 overs. Wicketkeeper and one-down batsman Swapnil Patel top scored with 63 from 47 balls, which was studded with six boundaries and two sixes. Osman Hameed made an unbeaten 57 from just 28 balls, in which he clubbed six sixes and one boundary.
Salman Faris scored 21 from 16 balls with one six and a boundary, while Avadoot Amonkar cracked 16 from just four balls with two sixes and a boundary. Mohd. Rameez scored 14 from seven balls with two sixes.
Gangadurai took three for 29, while Vimal Nath picked up two wickets. ADFC were never in the hunt as Ali Abbas snapped up four wickets for 15. Salman Faris took two wickets. ADFC folded up for 95 in 17.2 overs.
In the other match, Tyger CC posted 160 for the loss of five wickets in their 20 overs. Kashif Mahmood top scored with 33 from 36 balls with four boundaries. Imran Ahmed made an unbeaten 29 from 17 balls with the help of four boundaries. Haseeb Azam scored 24 from 16 balls. Krithi Interiors put up a fight with opener Imran Siddiqe top scoring with 43 from 25 balls, which was peppered with seven boundaries and a six. Haseeb Azam took three for 11, while Imran Ahmed picked up three for 24. Hamyon Gill took two wickets.
Brief scores: Tyger CC: 160 for 5 in 20 overs (Kashif Mahmood 33, Imran Ahmed 29 n.o, Haseeb Azam 24, Ibrahim Mohd. 2-26) beat Krithi Interiors: 156 all out in 19.5 overs (Imran Siddiqe 43, Fiyaz Hamsza 37, Udhoman Mohaiden 25, Ramsy Ramnathan 19, Haseeb Azam 3-11, Imran Ahmed 3-24, Hamyon Gill 2-32) by 4 runs.
Yogi Group: 200 for 8 in 20 overs (Swapnil Patel 63, Osman Hameed 57 n.o, Salman Faris 21, Avadoot Amonkar 16, Mohd. Rameez 14, Gangadurai 3-29, Vimal Nath 2-31) beat ADFC: 95 all out in 17.2 overs (Ali Abbas 4-15, Salman Faris 2-18) by 105 runs.
